In Jesus Name

When my dad was around 8 years old he and my grandfather were visiting a neighboring farmer. As the adults were standing around the work shed talking. My dad noticed an old rusty knife that had apparently not been used in a very long time. He picked it up and “whittled” the time away while waiting. He found a small stick and began carving on it. Later that day after they were back home, he had realized he had put the knife in his pocket. So he and my grandfather walked all they back (a mile or so) to the neighbors house to give him the old rusty knife back.

The reason, “Anderson’s don’t take what don’t belong to them” even if it’s by accident. My Grandfather was known as one of the most honest men in the county.

God’s connection to answering our prayer comes through Jesus or “the way” Jesus lived. In his name is “how he lived his life”, also.  It’s not only our authority in the name of Jesus to access God or cast out demons.

When we talk to God to get answered prayers, it’s the life we choose to live that’s like Jesus that give us confidence to receive God’s benevolence and answers to our prayers. It’s not for God it is for us.

Not a life of perfection, but as a son or as a daughter living the best we can like our Father in Heaven.

Jesus lived for 3 years as a “life giving teacher” to show us how to live righteously and without judging others. He showed us his character or his name.

So when we pray in the name of Jesus, we are saying that we are doing our best to live by the family name.

Be life giving and see your prayers answered.
