17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things
are passed away; behold, all things are become new. – 2 Cor 5:17
According to 2
Corinthians 5:17 we have God’s nature. Old things are passed away and behold
all things have become new. Old is the word in the Greek which means “the
original design”. “Things” is not things in the Greek, it really means “he’s or she’s.” “Things” is
you. The old original design of he and she is gone. They have passed away and
the phrase "passed away" means it doesn’t exist anymore, as though it were
disintegrated.
Behold all “things”,
the whole person, has become new. The root word of become, is the same word for
the name of the book of Genesis. It means to create. All “things” become new; the things
are he’s or she’s, people, personalities...us. It is really the word for
human beings. The word “new” means fresh, never used before. It is just like
cracking the seal on that coffee can in the morning and smelling the aroma. It
has never been used before. It is fresh, new, exciting. That is the way God
looks at us. That is what 2 Corinthians 5:17 says. When we have a brand new
nature we have the very nature of God.
Be Life Giving because you are!
